(via Miss at la Playa) Vogue Paris did a feature showcasing the same model made-up and photographed for every decade of her life. The two here show the model at 10 years and 60 years old, but if you click through, you can see the intervening decades. However, she’s actually the same age in each photo. It’s really quite remarkable.

Some users of social networking sites prefer to “friend” people who are colleagues or friends in real life. Some send invitations to friends of friends in an effort to expand their network, while others attempt to friend someone who has an interesting profile. Those new to Facebook are prompted to send a friend request to everyone in their address book (although they have the option to skip this step).
It’s all about dealing with expectations, said Ariel Waldman, community manager for Pownce, a social networking and microblogging site. “In Web 2.0, people have developed expectations of what friending or not friending means. They get put off if their expectations are not met.”

Jean-Louis Barrault (1910-1994) was a French actor, director and mime artist. His pantomime training with Etienne Decroux served him well when he portrayed the 19th-century mime Jean-Gaspard Deburau in Marcel Carné’s 1945 film ‘Les Enfants du Paradis’. A rebel with many causes, Barrault hid French Underground members on the set of ‘Les Enfants du paradis’.
